My Top 6 Favorite Movies of 2014
6. How to Train Your Dragon 2
I did enjoy the first one, but this is clearly the superior movie of the two. It's a great continuation of the story, the characters are a little older and the story is a little more complex. This is a very epic movie with great characters, and the most important thing was that it was a really fun experience.5. Still Alice
This movie was really a tuching and interesting film. Julian Moore was fantastic and she really deserves an oscar. I was not expecting a great movie (and it wasn't) though what I got was a good and well acted surprise.
4. Boyhood
Boyhood was a great depiction of what it is to grow up. It was well acted, and it was a very interesting way of making a movie. By filming over a duration of about 12 years, really makes the movie seem more realistic and beliveable. A really good and interesting movie.
3. Gone Girl
This was a movie that was under my radar for a long time, and when I saw the trailer for it I was mildly interested. The maine reason I wanted to see this movie was because of David Fincher. And that was a good enough reason, it is a really cool and awesome movie. It was exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole movie.
2. Whiplash
A good movie that becomes great because of the performances from both Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons. J.k. Simmons should win the oscar and he was fantastic in every possible way. An exciting and unique story which I really enjoyed. Check it out!
1. Birdman
Michael Keaton is back, and he's better than ever! He deserves an oscar, Alejandro Iñarritu deserves an oscar and the freaking movie deserves the oscar for best picture! This is the movie with THE best performances, it was brillianted filmed and edited. This was the most enjoyable and unique experience of the year. The best movie to come out in years!
This year had some good movies, here are some that bearly didn't make my list: The Imitation Game, The Theory of Everything, Nightcrawler, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Selma.
